It was expected when China "won" the nomination that it would go this way. Nothing surprising to see here. It's the same song and dance that has been going on for years and years now, both with the Hugos and with China.
I am grateful for the opening of opportunities like substack, Newpub, and so on to get more good entertainment out there. We have to be diligent, though, that they don't go the same way in pursuit of the almighty blue checkmark (Hereafter known as the ABC) of "societal perfection".
